Alpine Travel Service will endeavor to take all reasonable precautions to maintain the security of the information in our systems. We use a combination of security measures to prevent the unauthorised access of our servers and regularly review our security policies.
This website uses a X.509 digital server certificate to verify the identity of our server. It is similar to a passport in that it proves our identity by an authorised and trusted Certification Authority. A copy of this certificate appears at the bottom of this page. You can also view this certificate from the payment page of our Flights Booking System.
In addition, the payment pages of this site are encrypted using a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL 3.0 with 128bit encryption). This means that the information from these pages are sent back to our server in a secure fashion and can not be intercepted. Please note that because our Flights Booking System uses frames, you will not see a security icon on your browser window. However, at the page where you enter in your credit card details, if you right click the mouse in the bottom section of the page and select "Properties", you can see that the page is encrypted and a copy of our security certificate.
For credit card payments, we use a secure electronic payment gateway from Pay Pal. This system conforms to the highest security standards used by banks and other financial institutions. For more information about this system please refer to www.paypal.com. As an additional precaution, we also remove any credit card information from our e-commerce servers after a transaction has been completed.
In the event of unauthorised use of your credit card, you must notify the institution that issued your credit card immediately. Under the conditions of your credit card, your bank cannot hold you liable for more than $50.00 of a fraudulent transaction. |
